EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2014 Scotland

Petroleum Experts Ltd founder Hamid Guedroudj was named EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2014 Scotland at an awards dinner held at Gleneagles Hotel. Shortly thereafter a press release was made:

 

Judges described Guedroudj as a ‘standout entrepreneur’, highlighting the ‘phenomenal achievements’ of his ‘amazing, mature business’ and making special mention of the respect afforded to his staff.Guedroudj created his Edinburgh-based engineering technology company from scratch in 1990 without any external finances.It has since secured more than 25 global clients and its technology has been utilised in more than 200 oil fields.

 

It was reported last year that the company had posted a 50% increase in pre-tax profits fuelled mainly by an international investment strategy.Jim Bishop. Scotland senior partner at EY and the professional services firm’s Entrepreneur Of The Year leader north of the border, said: “Hamid is one of the most engaging entrepreneurs I’ve met in my time on the programme.

 

 “Petroleum Experts has enjoyed staggering growth, becoming a global industry leader along the way, and is in an incredibly strong and secure position. I have no doubt the business will continue to enjoy great success under his leadership.”

 

 Guedroudj beat 19 other business leaders to the top accolade and will represent Scotland at the EY UK Entrepreneur Of The Year final in October this year along with a further eight Scottish finalists whose achievements were also recognised at the ceremony (Below photo showing Petex CEO accepting  the award)
