Strengthening The Technical Capacity of Libya’s Oil Industry
Members of our technical team recently traveled to Tripoli for a highly productive engagement with Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC).
As national oil companies worldwide accelerate their digital transformation journeys, our goal for this visit was to demonstrate how integrated digital workflows can directly improve asset management, field planning, and operational decision-making.
Showcasing the Power of the IPM Suite
During the session, our team delivered a comprehensive technical presentation focused on bridging the gaps between complex subsurface data and surface operations. We introduced the NOC’s technical departments to our latest software developments, emphasizing the capabilities of the Petex Integrated Production Modelling (IPM) suite—the global industry standard for integrated field management.
We demonstrated to the NOC team how the IPM suite helps specialists:
Connect the Entire Asset: Seamlessly link reservoir models, well completions, and surface production networks for a holistic view of field performance.
Optimize Production Systems: Analyze complex field data in real-time to diagnose bottlenecks and maximize daily throughput.
Run Advanced Foreseeing Scenarios: Model future reservoir behavior and evaluate different operating strategies to de-risk capital investments.
"It was an honor to present to the NOC’s engineering teams," said the Petex delegation. "We focused on practical, field-proven workflows that connect data across every stage of development. By breaking down technical silos, engineering teams can collaborate more effectively and unlock the true economic potential of their oilfields."
Collaborative Engineering for the Future
The core of our visit was a series of collaborative discussions with the NOC’s technical departments. We explored tailored application methods for both current and upcoming Libyan energy projects, focusing on production optimization, reservoir management, and cross-discipline coordination.
The NOC is actively working to modernize its infrastructure and increase production efficiency across the country. Our team walked through how Petex technologies can provide the precise data analysis and forecasting methods required to meet these ambitious targets.
We look forward to a continued partnership with the National Oil Corporation, supporting their engineers with the digital tools and technical capacity needed to successfully manage Libya’s vital energy resources.
