Bringing a brand-new offshore gas condensate field online is hard enough — now add extreme pressure, extreme temperature, and a punishing offshore environment. That was the challenge facing a greenfield HPHT (high pressure, high temperature) development, where high-rate condensate wells fed offshore processing facilities before gas travelled a long distance by pipeline to shore.

The team needed a way to accurately allocate production, understand the field in detail before it even started up, and catch problems — like chemical scale build-up — before they became costly failures.

PETEX delivered a rigorous, model-based Digital Oil Field system before the field went live. It rationalised the well testing process, gave the client detailed technical allocation, and flagged scale issues early enough to act on them.
