Picture a large onshore oilfield where wells are lifted by a mix of ESPs, gas lift and natural flow, all feeding into different separators through a tangled network of pipelines. Every well has its own physical limits — pumps that can be damaged by too much or too little pressure, separators with fixed capacity, reservoir strategies that can't be ignored — and the operator had no reliable way to see how a decision made in one part of the field would ripple through the rest.

The fix required building an integrated model of the entire field that respected every one of those constraints simultaneously, then using it to actively recommend better ways to run the field.

PETEX's Digital Oil Field system did exactly that. The result: production increased with no new capital investment, allocation and forecasting both improved, and — perhaps most valuably — different departments that had been working from separate assumptions were now collaborating from one shared model, all pulling in the same direction.
