About this Vacancy

Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role is ideal for a recently qualified accountant with 3-5 years of experience who is looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will play a key role in the financial reporting process and will also support and mentor a small team of Accounts Assistants.

 

Key Responsibilities

As Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting the month-end close process.
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Supporting the year-end audit process, including preparation of audit schedules, and liaising with external auditors.
  • Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts and tax filings (VAT, Corporation Tax).
  • Supporting the consolidation of group accounts and working with multiple currencies.
  • Contributing to treasury management activities.
  • Mentoring and supporting a small team of Accounts Assistants, providing guidance, and reviewing their work.
  • Participating in process improvement initiatives and supporting wider finance projects as required.

Qualifications

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Experience in a similar financial accounting role.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
