About this Vacancy

We are seeking an experienced HR Professional to join our team as a strategic partner to drive our people strategy forward in a growing business. Reporting to the CEO, this is a pivotal leadership position for someone with strong leadership, HR generalist, compliance, and talent management skills.

 

We’re looking for someone who has previously worked in a standalone HR role or has experience in a similar industry (energy, mining, engineering or technology sector).

This is a broad strategic HR generalist role; key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Strategic HR LeadershipDevelop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the business goals. Provide strategic HR counsel to senior management and act as a bridge between leadership and employees. Balancing business needs with employee well-being.
  • Talent Acquisition & RetentionOversee the full recruitment and selection process, attracting top industry talent and ensuring effective onboarding and retention initiatives.
  • Performance & DevelopmentDrive performance management systems and employee development initiatives that maintain a high-performance, motivated workforce. Build workforce capability through succession planning and people development to support current and future business needs.
  • Employee Relations & Engagement: Act as the first point of contact for HR queries, providing advice and guidance on people-related matters. Drive employee engagement initiatives that foster collaboration, recognition, and a supportive environment.
  • Compliance & Policy ManagementMaintain and improve HR policies, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (8+ years) as a HR Manager or HR Business Partner, ideally in the energy, mining, engineering or technology sector. Professional HR qualification (CIPD level 5 or 7) preferred.
  • HR Generalist experience: Demonstrated success in HR strategy execution, talent management, and performance improvement initiatives. Ability to develop succession plans and employee development programs to grow high-potential talent. In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices, Able to confidently advise on policies, compliance, and best practices.
  • Confident communicator: Excellent communication skills and cultural awareness to effectively manage a diverse workforce with the ability to influence and partner with stakeholders at all levels.
