About this Vacancy
PE Limited is undertaking a major modernisation of its engineering software platform, transitioning from a long-established desktop ecosystem toward modern web-native user experiences.
We are seeking a Senior Product UI/UX Designer who will help define and lead the user experience vision for our next-generation software platform. This role focuses on understanding complex engineering workflows and translating them into intuitive, efficient user experiences.
Working closely with engineering teams, domain experts, and product leadership, the successful candidate will help shape how thousands of engineers worldwide interact with our software. This role will also play an important part in establishing modern product design practices within the organisation.
As the modernisation programme progresses, the Senior Product UI/UX Designer will help guide design strategy, develop interaction models for complex scientific workflows, and ensure that user experience remains central to product evolution.
You Will:
- Define and evolve the user experience vision across our engineering software platform
- Translate complex engineering workflows into intuitive, high-quality interaction designs
- Work closely with engineers and product leadership to ensure usability and practicality of designs
- Lead user research, usability analysis, and workflow validation with real users
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and interaction models for modern web-based products
- Establish design standards and UX principles across products
- Help ensure consistency and coherence across multiple product interfaces
- Contribute to product roadmap discussions by representing the user perspective
Qualifications
Essential
· Significant experience designing UI/UX for complex software products
· Strong understanding of modern interaction design principles
· Demonstrated ability to translate complex workflows into intuitive user experiences
· Experience working closely with engineering teams in technical product environments
· Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Desirable
· Experience designing for technical domains such as engineering software, scientific tools, or enterprise systems
· Experience conducting user research with specialist professional users
· Familiarity with modern design tools and prototyping platforms (e.g. Figma or similar)
· Experience helping organisations establish UX design practices or design systems
